Immediate cremation is where cremation occurs and no further services will be held. We will provide the removal from the place of death, obtain the necessary paperwork and permit signatures, secure the death certificate and proceed with cremation. After cremation we can either hold the urn/cremains at the funeral home or return to the family for final disposition.
A memorial service is a service honoring the deceased without their physical remains being present. We will arrange and conduct the service at the funeral home chapel or one's church. Inurnment (burial of the cremains) may follow the service on request of the family's wishes.
Having a traditional service prior to cremation is becoming a very popular option with many these days. This gives the family the opportunity to have visitation/viewing hours along with a funeral ceremony either at the funeral home chapel or one's church. A cremation casket may be purchased for viewing, but most people choose our rental casket. This option allows one to feel like they are having a traditional burial service at nearly half the expense of one. At the conclusion of the service, instead of proceeding to the cemetery, we proceed with the cremation. Inurnment (burial of the cremains) may occur at a later date.
We always give our families the option of viewing their loved one prior to cremation. This is a wonderful option for any immediate family members who were not able to see their loved one at the time of death. This is done usually within the first 24 hours after the death. Afterwards we would then proceed with the cremation process.
