Betty Ann Felt passed away at the age of 84, on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Betty was born on March 4, 1938 to Roy and Sarah (Olson) Alvestad in Jewell, Iowa. She grew up in Jewell and would go on to graduate from South Hamilton High School. Throughout the years, Betty worked for over 25 years for Baker’s Cafetoria before becoming an Education Assistant for Hartland AEA. She married the love of her life, Duane “Dewey” Felt, and together they raised their family and made Waukee home for over 60 years.
Betty had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukee, which kept her very active in many positions and committees. Betty enjoyed watching birds and squirrels from her window, adored her family (especially getting visits from her grandchildren) and was truly loved by all.
Betty is survived by her children: Douglas Duane Felt, Michael Leroy Felt, Lisa Ann (Roger) Fenton and Lori Lin Felt; grandchildren: Sarah Felt, Jessica Geihsler, Mandi Barnes, Aaron DeBartolo and Allison; numerous great-grandchildren; sister Doris Twedt and brother Dale Alvestad. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dewey and brother Wayne Alvestad.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Waukee Community Center, 875 Walnut Street, Waukee, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed towards the family, c/o Lisa Fenton, 4100 57th St., Des Moines, IA 50310, to assist with final arrangement expenses.
