Beverly Ann Clark

Beverly Ann Clark, born September 5, 1934, in Lake City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa. Beverly’s life was marked by kindness, compassion, and a deep devotion to the people and passions she loved.

Beverly was the daughter of Clyde and Ann (Birner) Anderson. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines. She was a dedicated school teacher in both Des Moines and West Des Moines before owning and operating the Knox Cafe, where her warmth created a welcoming place for all who entered.

In addition to her achievements in education and business, Beverly was a passionate and devoted lover of animals. Together with her beloved husband, Donald B. Clark, whom she married on February 14, 1979, in Hawaii, she found great joy in showing Quarter Horses. Their efforts together brought them numerous awards from the Iowa Quarter Horse Association and created lasting memories. Her love for animals and the equestrian world was prominent throughout her life.

Since 1973, Beverly made her home in Ankeny, building enduring friendships throughout her community. She was known to all as a very kind and loving lady, someone whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Clark, along with her parents and siblings. She is survived by her three step-children and two step-grandchildren, who carry forward her legacy of generosity and love.

In keeping with Beverly's wishes, no services will be held.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa.
