Brian J Mesenbrink, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at Lutheran Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Born on December 7, 1959, in Des Moines, Brian’s life was marked by his commitment to his family and a distinguished career in the financial services industry.
Brian graduated from East High School in Des Moines, a foundation that paved the way for his decades-long career as a computer analyst. He began his professional career at Dial Industries, an institution that evolved through mergers into Northwest and eventually Wells Fargo, where he dedicated his talents and expertise for many years. His work was characterized by diligence and integrity, contributing significantly to the financial sector’s technological development.
On June 5, 1982, Brian married the love of his life, Pamela Carroll, in Des Moines. Their partnership was a source of strength and happiness throughout his life. Brian resided primarily on the east side of Des Moines and in Mitchellville, with only a brief stay in Omaha while growing up. Brian’s family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in his wife, Pam Mesenbrink of Mitchellville; his son, Brandon (Megan Keyt) Mesenbrink, of Des Moines; and his granddaughter, Molly Mesenbrink, also of Des Moines. He was also a loving son to Jan Mesenbrink of Des Moines and brother to Joni Mesenbrink of Des Moines.
Brian’s father, Bernie Mesenbrink, and his sister, Shari Mesenbrink, preceded him in death, as did his grandparents Ben and Orilla Mesenbrink, and Leonard and Ruth Springer.
A man of many interests, Brian found joy in the great outdoors and recreational sports. He loved golfing and boating, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and friends. Bowling was a particular passion, and he approached it with dedication and enthusiasm. Camping, fishing, and barbecuing were favorite pastimes that brought moments of relaxation and happiness, often shared with those close to him.
