Carole Elaine Crate, 83, of Clive, IA, passed away at her home on Monday, March 14, 2022.
Carole was born to Arthur and Evelyn Crate in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 5, 1938. She received two PhDs from Brown University and was a tenured professor at Drake University teaching Spanish and French.
Carole was a long-time Clive resident for over 35 years at her homestead off of Hickman Road. She saw many things change and build-up and surround her property over the years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, raising exotic parrots and adored her german shepherds.
Carole is survived by her companion, Jim Edstrom.
In keeping with Carole's wishes, no public services will be held.
Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services of Waukee has been entrusted with final arrangements.
