Charles McQuary

Charles Robert “Bob” McQuary passed away June 11, 2021 at Edencrest at Green Meadows after a lengthy illness.
Bob was born in March of 1938 in St Louis, Missouri to the late Charles Virgil and Traba Fawn McQuary. Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was a huge fan of Penn State University and all things Nittany Lions. He was a veteran, serving two years in the United States Army in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduating with a BS in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University, Bob spent much of his career in St Louis and Dalton, GA with Monsanto’s Astroturf division.
Survivors include his former wife, Virginia Lee McQuary of Waukee, IA and three beloved daughters: Robin Lynn Jensen (Peter) of West Des Moines, IA, Kelly McQuary Littlejohn (William) of Spartanburg, SC, and Traba Ann McQuary of Urbandale, IA. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Willard Lee McQuary (Louise) of Elbert, CO, sister Judith Marie Jones (Gwynne) of Sewickley, PA, seven grandchildren: Jordan Carlton Jensen (Bethany), Tabitha Carrie Bowling (Brad), Alexandra Lee Jensen, Elizabeth Marie Jensen, Robert Mason Barrett, Jr, Alexander McQuary Barrett, William Hudson Barrett, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans’ Cemetery.  Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services has been entrusted with final arrangements.
