Charles Anthony Miller

Charles Anthony Miller, affectionately known as Chuck, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on November 22, 1950, in Manchester, Iowa. Chuck lived a life dedicated to service and family, marked by his commitment as a retired veteran and his career as an industrial worker.

A proud member of the U.S. Army, Chuck served with distinction in the 101st Airborne, embodying the values of courage and dedication. He graduated from Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work and perseverance. On April 20, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he married Debra Stuart, with whom he shared a love that flourished throughout their many years together.

Chuck was a passionate enthusiast of classic cars and drag races. His leisure moments were often spent indulging in his favorite television crime shows or gathering with friends and family to play his favorite game of Yahtzee.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Miller of Osceola; children Lori (James) Kelley of Osceola, Anthony Miller of Osceola, Crystal (Brian) Bohall of Osceola, Lindsay (J.J.) Tennent of Weldon, and Nickalous Miller of Osceola; as well as his sister Anna Mae Elliott of Dubuque, and brother Ralph Miller of Cedar Rapids. He is also remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Joshua (Jazzmine) Sisk, Samantha Sisk, Amaya Tennent, Garrett Tennent and Waverly Bohall and great-grandson Dean Sisk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his spirit forward in their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Benard and Henrietta Catherine Miller, and his brothers John Henry, Bernard Joseph, and Jerry Miller, along with a sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Miller.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee, Iowa. A ritual of military honors will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel at 11:00 AM.
