Deborah Beal

Deborah "Debbie" Beal, age 69 of Waukee, passed away on June 22, 2023, at Methodist Medical Center with her family at her side. A service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 30, at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee. Visitation to begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service.

Deborah Marie Knight, daughter of James and Dolores (Brownfield) Knight, was born on January 18, 1954, in Fort Dodge, IA. She grew up in Iowa City. Deb was educated as a nurse and began her career at the University of Iowa Hospital. She concluded her career at Broadlawns Hospital several years back.

On June 13, 1981, she was united in marriage to Bruce Beal. Together they raised three children, James, Michael, and Jessica. Her greatest joy came from nurturing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Bruce; children James Beal (Karen), Michael Beal (Megan) and Jessica Manternach (Mitch); grandsons Zander and Ethan; granddaughters Rowan and Dylan; as well as her sister, Tamara Knight, and mother-in-law, Margaret Beal. She was preceded in death by her parents.
