Deborah Jean Moyle

Deborah Jean Moyle, affectionately known as Debi, passed away on July 17, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on May 24, 1954, in Pomona, California, and throughout her seventy‑two years, she touched the lives of all who knew her through her unwavering love, devotion, and unmistakable warmth.

Debi had a rare gift for people. She was friendly to everyone she met — the kind of person who could turn a stranger into a friend with nothing more than a smile and a few kind words. She carried herself with openness, sincerity, and a natural ease that made others feel welcome in her presence. Debi approached life with a generous spirit and a heart that was always ready to give. Those who knew her remember her as someone who was always full of kindness.

On November 7, 1980, in Elk Point, South Dakota - she married the love of her life, Chet Moyle, beginning a partnership built on mutual respect and devotion that remained unwavering through every chapter of their lives. Their bond was an inspiration to family and friends alike. Throughout the years, they resided in Sioux City, Des Moines, and Davenport before eventually settling in Redfield.

Debi had a competitive side that came alive whenever a deck of cards was on the table. She loved swimming, shooting 8‑ball pool, singing, and listening to karaoke. She was always ready for a road trip, eager for an adventure.

Above all, Debi adored her role as mother and grandmother. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in the presence of her loved ones. She is survived by her beloved husband, Chet Moyle; her children, Micheal (Shawnda) Johnson, Travis (Vicki) Johnson, John Moyle, Desteni Moyle, Alesha Moyle, and Katlyn Johnson; siblings Oris Glass, Sherri Whiffin, Shelia Glass, and Leo Glass; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great‑grandchildren.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, caring, and fierce strength — remembered for the generosity she offered freely to family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Debi’s life was also touched by the memory of those who have gone before her- her parents, Oris Sr. & Cleone Glass, and her sister, Joann Clay.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (4 PM for immediate family) at Ernst Funeral Home, 80 NE Dartmoor Drive, Waukee, Iowa. The following day, a Catholic Prayer Service will take place at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Ernst Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service immediately following at 9:45 AM. Interment will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. A luncheon will follow the committal service at the Redfield American Legion.

Debi’s warmth, compassion, and love will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
