Dennis Duane Boston

   Dennis D. Boston, who was born to Alvin and Vivian (Linn) Boston on December 20, 1941 in rural Dallas County, passed away from complications from a stroke on May 1, 2020 in Des Moines, Iowa.  Private family services are planned and he will be laid to rest at Waukee Cemetery.

   Dennis graduated from Adel High School in 1959 and went on to work as a welder with John Deere from 1961-1995.  Dennis married the love of his life, Marilyn Thompson, on July 7, 1976.  Together they raised quarter horses and raced them at Prairie Meadows.  Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed farming, baling hay, cutting wood and burning ditches.  He was a skilled welder who helped out countless family members and friends over the years.  He loved watching his daughters barrel race and grandchildren rodeo. 

   Dennis is survived by his wife Marilyn of Adel; children Shawn (Travis) Snyder of Van Meter, John (Kristi) Boston of Cedar Rapids, Heather (Rob) Brown of Urbandale and Andi (Jim) Bouma of West Des Moines; grandchildren Riata, Colton, Dayton, Stuart, Madelyn, Lydia, Stella, Bobby, Kenley and Kendall and sister-in-law Kay Boston of Adel.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean Boston.

   Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services of Waukee have been entrusted for final arrangements.
