Dianne Lee McCabe, born on April 3, 1937, in Red Oak, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at Kavanagh House Hospice on 56th Street in Des Moines, Iowa. Dianne, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

In Red Oak, where her journey began, Dianne met the love of her life, James "Jim" McCabe, at a local malt shop. Their union, characterized by love, partnership, and joy, lasted over 67 years. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and unwavering support for one another.

Dianne is survived by brother Rusty Kuester of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her children, Denise (Doug) Nehas of Davenport, Iowa; Jeffrey (Diane) McCabe of West Des Moines, Iowa; and John McCabe of Urbandale, Iowa. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a devoted great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly through them. Dianne was preceded in death by her husband, James L. McCabe, and her parents, Leslie and Dorothy (Shinley) Kuester.

A private funeral service will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope in Waukee, Iowa. Dianne will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorial donations may be directed in Dianne's memory to: Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy., West Des Moines, IA 50266.

Ernst Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Waukee, Iowa, has been entrusted with Dianne's final arrangements.
