Diego Rodolfo Posadas

Diego Rodolfo Posadas, a beloved son, brother, and grandson, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was 19 years old.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 31, 2006, Diego was a lifelong resident of Waukee and was cherished by his large and loving family. After a rough start and 30 days in the NICU he was sent home to start his life journey. He embraced life with enthusiasm and a tender heart. Diego attended Waukee Elementary, Waukee Middle School, and graduated from Waukee Northwest in 2024. He kept busy working various jobs, including a job in bridge construction, where he was known for his hard work, dedication and friendly demeanor.

Diego had a wide range of passions that reflected his intelligence and vibrant spirit. He found peace in nature, often spending time walking in the woods, caring for his plants, and practicing his faith. He loved expressing himself with art, often coloring, drawing and working on crafts. He was an avid reader and devoted pet lover (especially to Chico, Kenobi, Rocko, and Remi). He also enjoyed the excitement of cinema, particularly watching Marvel and Pixar movies in IMAX. He maintained an active lifestyle, finding discipline in exercising, weight lifting, and boxing. Diego enjoyed exploring various sports including football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, and his favorite of all, watersports on Table Rock Lake in the summer. Diego was known for his appreciation of music and even tried his hand at making music for a period. Above all, he adored all holidays, especially Christmas, always bringing extra cheer to family gatherings.

Diego’s memory will be forever cherished by his devoted parents: his mother, Shelly Tichy and his father, Oscar Posadas. He is also survived by his siblings: Ariana Posadas, Ian Deuanephenh, Evan Posadas, Launna Posadas, and Oscar Posadas Jr. His stepmother, May Posadas and Brian Jones fiancé to Shelly. He also leaves behind his loving grandmothers: Scherry Tichy, Laura Cruz and Nouone Deuanephenh.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rodolfo Posadas and James Tichy.

Diego filled his 19 years of life with spirit, joy and kindness. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m at Ernst Funeral Home, 80 NE Dartmoor Drive, Waukee. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1200 S. Warrior Lane, Waukee. Interment to follow at the Waukee Cemetery. Diego Rodolfo Posadas, querido hijo, hermano y nieto, falleció inesperadamente el miércoles 10 de diciembre de 2025. Tenía 19 años.

Nacido en Des Moines, Iowa, el 31 de enero de 2006, Diego fue residente de toda la vida de Waukee y era apreciado por su gran y amorosa familia. La misa del entierro cristiano se celebrará el viernes 19 de diciembre de 2025 a las 10:00 a.m. en St. Iglesia Católica de Bonifacio, 1200 S. Warrior Lane, Waukee. Entierro a seguir.
