Eilene Faith Grim

Eilene “Pat” Grim, 86, died February 26, 2026 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.

Eilene was born February 12, 1940 in Washta, Iowa to Gustav and Hazel Hegre. She was married to Joseph (Earl) Grim of Dallas Center for 40 years. She was a proud member of New Point Church in Urbandale.

Eilene is survived by her daughter Tina (Tim) Westphal and stepson Frank (Bernadette Jacobsmeier) Grim. She is also survived by her sisters Cecilia Markowski, Roseanne McCann, Debbie (Tim) Johnson, Carla (Mark) Hegre-Ochanpaugh, grandchildren Miranda and Zach, step-grandchildren Angie, Nicky, Misty and Russ; sister-in-law Garnett Hegre and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, parents, twin sister Evelene, sisters Mary Ellen and Gloria, and brothers Glen and Ron.

A funeral service will be Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, both at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee. A family celebration of life and interment at Sunset View Cemetery in Washta, Iowa will be later this spring.
