F. Scott Wearmouth

F. Scott Wearmouth, 65, of Waukee, IA, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Deerfield Long-Term Care in Urbandale, IA.

Scott was born on January 11, 1961, in Des Moines, IA, to the late Judith Swigart and Jack Wearmouth.

On December 1, 1984, he was united in marriage to Cherilyn (Dent) Wearmouth in Urbandale, IA.

A lifetime landscape developer, Scott’s passion for his craft began at the young age of 14 when he started working for Al Carey Landscape. Over the decades, he designed and installed beautiful landscaping for countless residential homes and commercial buildings throughout the Des Moines metro area. He eventually became the owner of Al Carey Landscape, running the business until his recent health issues.

An outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed hunting in his early years and maintained a lifelong passion for scuba diving. Above all, he enjoyed playing with and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, two children and four grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Ernst Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Waukee, IA.
