Holly J Bragg

Holly Wilson was born in Troy, New York, and moved to Cincinnati, OH as a child where she attended Taylor High School and then Ohio Northern University for university and law school.

In 1983, Holly became the youngest lawyer in the state of Ohio. Her work as a corporate attorney gave her opportunities to travel the country and discover new places, especially once she got her pilot’s license and could fly herself around the country in a twin engine plane.

She met her husband and lover, Jim Bragg, through a musical theater group in Toledo, OH. They were married June 9, 1990 at Park Church.

Holly and Jim raised their family in Dayton, OH where they joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Columbus, OH temple on their 10th wedding anniversary, June 9, 2000.

Holly was a prolific cook and a gourmet foodie. She loved trying new foods and restaurants and was never afraid of a recipe. She also loved swimming and walking on the beach. Her favorite films were White Christmas, Knight and Day, and the Holiday.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mom. Her children will remember gathering together while she read aloud the Harry Potter series. What started as a bedtime story became a tradition that continued into their teenage years.

Holly is survived by her husband James Kenneth Bragg; daughter Lindsay Marie Bragg; son Nicholas James (Toshiko) Bragg and beloved dog River Song.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald Lindsay Wilson and Lorraine Marie Bessette and sister Laurel Marie Pappas.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 SE Pleasant View Drive, Waukee.
