James Lewis Tounsley

James Lewis Tounsley, 66 of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at his home on April 18, 2019.

In keeping with James' wishes, no services will be held.  Memorials may be directed to the family via our website to assist with final funeral expenses.

James was born on August 17, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Eris (James) Tounsley.  A long-time Des Moines resident, James in his younger years enjoyed coaching his children's little league baseball teams.  He loved fishing, motorcycles and adored spending time with his grandchildren.

James is survived by his children: Jason Tounsley of Des Moines; Kim (Mark) Bierman of Waukee and Nate (Candy) Tounsley of Pleasant Hill and grandchildren Ethan, Jessie, Kyah, Jack, Madison, James and Kylie.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Joseph Tounsley; sister Linda Kay Blocker and ex-wife Sheila Tounsley.
