Mary Ann Davenport

Mary Ann Davenport, who was born to Charles and Molly (Short) Gibson on April 11, 1937 in Skeene, Mississippi, passed away at the age of 82 on February 13, 2020 in Panora, Iowa.

 Mary Ann is survived by her children Laura (Bill) Meyer of Elkton, MD Debra Bosovich of Waukee, IA, Chris (Kim) Davenport of Linden, IA and Chuck Davenport of Waukee; grandchildren Josh, Andy, Letha, Meghan, Sean, Libby, Sam, Kate and Ty and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard and three brothers and two sisters.

Mary Ann had a strong work ethic that could be seen throughout her life.  She spent time babysitting in her home, at the Tupperware Warehouse, the Waukee C.S.D. and Wells Fargo.  In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling to Arkansas, Arizona and the East Coast to visit family and watching races in Knoxville.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, singing in the church choir, music, sports and cooking amazing meals.  Her children and grandchildren were her life.  She adored them all and loved attending their many activities and events. 

 A memorial visitation gathering will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ernst Funeral Home, Waukee.  Private Family Services will be held and final inurnment will take place at Waukee Cemetery.
