Niquita "Pat" Stout

May 18, 1937 — September 3, 2025

Waukee

Niquita Kay Stout, affectionately known as "Pat," was born on May 18, 1937, in Corning, Iowa. She blessed this world with her presence until September 3, 2025, when she passed away peacefully at Spurgeon Manor, surrounded by her family. A dedicated homemaker and devoted professional in the insurance industry with Bankers Life and Equitable Life Insurance Co., Pat's life was enriched not only by her career but also by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

A graduate of Truro High School in 1954, Pat spent her life nurturing her passions and interests. She married the love of her life, Otho Loren Stout on May 2, 1959, in Murray, Iowa. Together, they shared a beautiful life until his passing. She found immense joy in gardening, especially tending to her beloved tomatoes, cucumbers, and an assortment of vibrant flowers. Her care extended beyond her garden, as she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels that frequented her yard. Pat never could pass up a discount or coupon either; as "nothing felt better than getting a bargain". A sports enthusiast, she took pleasure in cheering for her favorite teams, including the Cubs, Fever, Hawkeyes, and Cyclones. However, her greatest love was for her family, especially the cherished moments spent babysitting and enjoying time with her grandsons, Bradford and Parker

Pat formed deep connections throughout her life, one of which was a rekindled friendship with Robert Clifton, a childhood friend who brought her joy and companionship in these last few years. Her warmth and kindness were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Loren Stout of Waukee, daughter, Cynthia Kay (Gary) DePond of Adel, grandsons Bradford Lee (Abbie) DePond and Parker Lane DePond and great-grandson, Baylon Otho J. DePond. She will also be remembered by her nephew, Mark Ford, niece, Rose Ford and her sister-in-law, Helen Stout. She joins her late husband, Loren, along with her brother, Clinton Ford, and sister-in-law, Marliene Ford in eternal rest.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Spurgeon Manor and EveryStep Hospice who cared for Pat with love, respect and dignity.

Visitation will be held on September 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ernst Funeral Home located at 80 NE Dartmoor Drive in Waukee, Iowa. Interment to follow at the Waukee Cemetery. Pat's service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at: www.facebook.com/ernstfuneralcremation.
