Patricia Lee Coffey

   Patricia Lee Coffey, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Waukee, IA on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Ernst Funeral Home, Waukee.  Interment to follow at the Waukee Cemetery.

   Pat, one of five children, was born to Michael and Mary (Skirchak) Krehel on July 9, 1937 in Lone Pine, Pennsylvania.  She grew up in Kincaid, Illinois and graduated from Kincaid High School in 1956. She would go on to marry the love of her life, Clyde Leroy Coffey on June 29, 1958.  Together they moved to Waukee in 1979 and have made Waukee their home ever since.  Pat was a dedicated and skilled mailing machine operator and spent time at Franklin Life Insurance Company and Time Life Books before finishing her career in the retail sector working at Marshalls.

   Pat was a faithful member of Waukee United Methodist Church where she spent time helping wherever she could. This included heading up the regular chicken noodle dinners in the fellowship hall, acting as a Sunday usher and making prayer shawls, which came easily for Pat as she had a great passion for knitting and crocheting.  Above all, she was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who adored her family and made sure everyone was well taken care of and never left hungry.

   Pat is survived by her sons Ron (Jewel) Coffey of Tipton, IA and Tim Coffey of Waukee; grandchildren Charlie (Justin) Mayer, Kaylee Coffey, Kevin (Chelsea) Coffey and Kenny Coffey; great-grandchildren Kiley and Myles Mayer and Rowan and Reese Coffey and sister Dorothy (John) Floquet.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde; daughter-in-law Melissa Coffey and siblings Mike Jr., Kathy and Paulette.

   Memorials may be directed to Waukee United Methodist Church in Pat’s memory.
