Rhonda Rae Wright

Rhonda Wright passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at age 64. Private graveside services were held at her request.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer late in 2016. So my message is “don’t give up!” New treatments have helped extend lives and make quality of life better. John Stoddard Cancer Center and Dr. Hughes were both instrumental in my care.

I grew up in southern Iowa with my grandparents, Georgia and Ivan Kost and in Des Moines with my parents Phyllis and Dale Briley. I met and married my best friend, the love of my life and the finest man I ever knew, Scott Wright. We made our home in the country. We were blessed with three wonderful children Ashley, Katey and AJ., lots of animals and love. We were beyond happy.  Our family grew with Ashley’s husband, Cody Waltersdorf and AJ’s wife, Summer. More blessings would come with our grandchildren Jackson, Laney, Hollis and Henry. Our hearts were so full.

I should have gone first with advanced cancer but Scott passed away in 2019. As usual he led the way to make it easier for me.

My brothers Jordan Briley, Fred Mackin and Jason Briley and sisters Karen Schneider and Jean Davis are left to carry on with their families. Life really does go by in a blink but it was oh so wonderful!
