Sharon K Gitzen

Sharon K. Gitzen, who was born on September 9, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away at the age of 68 on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Bright Kavanagh Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sharon had an amazing green thumb and enjoyed caring for plants and gardening. She loved traveling, spending time with her granddaughters and adored her many dogs over the years.

Sharon is survived by her son Robert (Gabrielle) Gitzen of Dexter; daughter Jadney (Tory) Browne of Granger; granddaughters Kayle Reed, Mya Browne and Sawyer Browne; sister Ann Bristow of Colorado; brother Herbert Hawkins of Florida and step-mother Norma Alderfer of Anchorage. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Warren and Patricia Jane (McCallum) Alderfer and husband Robert Gitzen, Jr..
