Timothy Alan Leonard

Timothy Alan Leonard passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa with his mother and sister by his side.

Tim was born on July 28, 1959 in Des Moines to Dale Arlen Leonard and Patricia Lou (Swallow) Leonard.  He was the middle child of ten children, raised and resided most of his life in Waukee, except a time as a youth when the family resided in Garden City, Michigan and Dallas, Texas.  Tim was a 1977 graduate of Waukee High School.  After graduation, he went to work for Mills Insulation in West Des Moines and worked for the company, now known as Contractor Services of Iowa, until he retired in 2023.

Tim always had chihuahua dogs and will be missed by his furry friends Trigger and Daisy.  He enjoyed playing pool, Bud beer and family gatherings.

He was preceded in death by his father Dale Leonard, step-father Leland Gorman, niece Kristina Heck and nephew Matthew Heck.

Tim is survived by his mother Patricia Gorman; brothers Les (Rexanne Wade) Leonard, Ed Leonard, Mike (Linh) Leonard, Andy (Patty Katzenberger) Leonard, Randy Leonard, Jeff Leonard, Ken (Vicki) Leonard and sisters Sandy Heck and Shari (David) Hankins plus numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Waukee Cemetery.  Time and Date pending. Memorial donations may be made in Tim's memory to: AHeinz57 Pet Rescue (www.aheinz57.com) Ernst Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Waukee has been entrusted with Tim's final arrangements.
